From the "No Such Thing As An Original Idea" file...

Well, shoot. Here I thought I stumbled into something new and different, and I'm already behind...

From MentalFloss.com's "The Most Important Question of the Day": Have product placement deals ever found their way into novels?

The answer, naturally, is yes. But with NaNoWriMo right around the corner, I'm certainly willing to field any offers companies might have.

Doesn't have to be huge and/or all-encompassing. But lord knows characters need to eat, drink, sleep, wear clothes, drive, vacation, watch big-screen TVs, talk on cell phones, furnish their second homes, etc., etc.

My creative process cannot be bought. It can, however, be rented.

A short time ago in a desert not too far away...

...some folks with a lot of time on their hands thought, "Hey, let's build a life-size version of an X-wing Fighter, strap some rockets on it and launch that sucker into the sky!"

Gotta give 'em credit for tenacity, but a helpful hint for next time? Worry less about visual authenticity and a little more about structural integrity...
